WORK SCHEDULE: "When Actually Employed (WAE)” - Fill in for the permanent nurse during the incumbent's absence due to training, vacation, etc.
DUTIES: Develop and administer the occupational health clinic,providing primary health care to adults and children, administer a vaccination program, provide urgent and emergent care or coordination of such care on a 24 hour/7 day a week basis, coordinate medical clearance examinations, and perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Registered Professional Nurse who is a graduate of a professional nursing school with a current and unrestricted Registered Nurse license from the U.S., Puerto Rico, or Western European equivalent, with at least two years previous experience, one of which from a U.S. government facility medical unit or Embassy Health Unit required; OR Non-Western trained local Registered Professional Nurse from a professional nursing school or college that has the equivalent of RN training in the U.S. (to be confirmed by the RMO and/or M/MED) and be fully credential/licensed in the host country, with at least two years previous experience, one of which from a U.S. government facility medical unit or Embassy Health Unit required.
- Fluent in speaking/reading English required.
- Ability to administer adult and pediatric immunization program according to current CDC standards is required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a client-oriented disposition required.
- A good working knowledge or experience of current health promotion recommendations in the U.S. and familiarity with American Nursing standards of care required.
- Must be able to perform basic word processing on the computer.
- Ability to operate specialized medical equipment is required.
